FAQ

The questions we get asked before anyone signs anything

Short answers about fit, support, security and cost. If yours is not here, the contact form reaches a person, and Ask Gravity is in the corner of every page.

Working with Gravity

What does Gravity Computers do?

Gravity Computers provides managed IT services, IT support, cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery, AI platform services, cloud support, hosting, domains, DNS management, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure, and business technology guidance.

What size business is a good fit for Gravity?

Gravity is best suited for growing businesses with roughly 20 to 150 users that need dependable support, stronger cybersecurity, and practical technology ownership without building a full internal IT department.

Where does Gravity provide service?

Gravity supports businesses in Vancouver, Miami, Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area, and distributed office environments. Support is remote-first, with onsite visits when the situation calls for it.

How long has Gravity been in business?

More than 25 years. Gravity is BBB A+ accredited, was a Microsoft Gold and Silver partner between 2008 and 2021, and works across Apple, Cisco Meraki and Google Workspace environments.

What happens after I get in touch?

We start with a discovery conversation to understand your goals, your current setup, and what is costing you time. You get a plain-English picture of where you stand and what to fix first, before any commitment.

Support and response

How quickly does Gravity respond to support requests?

Our target is a 15-minute response from experienced technicians. There is no level 1 call-centre triage, so the person who picks up your issue can usually act on it.

Will we deal with the same people each time?

Yes. You work with dedicated technicians who know your environment, so nobody has to re-explain their problem from scratch.

Is monitoring really 24/7?

Yes. A 24/7 NOC watches your network and devices, and a 24/7 SOC watches for security events, so problems are picked up outside business hours rather than waiting for someone to report them.

Does Gravity work onsite or only remotely?

Remote-first, because it resolves most issues faster, with onsite attendance when the work genuinely needs someone in the room.

Security, backup and AI

What does the cybersecurity side actually cover?

Locking down email, logins and every device your team uses, multi-factor authentication, patching, phishing defence, tested backups, and 24/7 monitoring across your network and security. You can read more on the cybersecurity page.

How do I know our backups would actually work?

Because they get restored, not just run. Reliable backup means monitored jobs, tested restores, immutable copies, and recovery goals tied to the systems that matter most. Backups that are never tested are assumptions, not protection.

How should a business approach AI safely?

Start with one managed platform, clear identity controls, a review of who can reach which data, defined workflows, and a short list of practical use cases before expanding AI across teams. Permissions come before prompts.

Can you work with the software we already use?

Generally yes. Gravity supports Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, Azure, Copilot, Apple Mac, Cisco Meraki, VoIP, QuickBooks, Adobe, endpoint detection and response, and backup and disaster recovery tooling. The platforms page lists this in full.

Pricing and switching

How does Gravity price its services?

Quotes are put together after a short discovery conversation, because the number depends on how many users and devices you have and which services are included. What you will not get is a surprise invoice: reviews are regular and costs are agreed in advance.

We already have an IT provider. Is switching disruptive?

It should not be. We start by reviewing your current setup, contracts and costs, then plan the transition around your business rather than the other way round. Most of the work happens in the background.

What if we only need help with one thing?

That is fine. Plenty of engagements start with a single piece, a security gap, a backup that nobody trusts, or a website and hosting move, and grow from there only if it makes sense.
